Cystic Acne – Causes and Treatment of Cystic Acne:

Cystic acne or what you call iconoclastic acne is the most severe form of acne vulgarism. Its main characteristics are swollen red pustules with pus and sore nodules that can be very painful. Acne scars are very common results of this type of acne once they are not properly treated by puncture and the use of ineffective drugs. It also requires a longer time to heal as compared to milder types of acne.

It is generally confused with acne rosacea because of their resemblance. Rosacea is pimples and blemishes appeared on the forehead, chin cheeks and nose and are very distinguished because of its reddish color and nodules. The difference between rosacea and cystic acne is that the former does not result from blackheads or whiteheads which result from the last. Rosacea pimples are not extractable as well unlike blackheads and whiteheads.

With cystic acne, there are three things to consider when all can cause cystic acne. First, the sebaceous glands are excited that most people have acne prone. Their sebaceous glands produce more oil than usual and soon enough clog pores, hence resulting in outbreaks when infected. Research shows that the sebum produced by the sebaceous glands of people with acne has bad compositions high squalling and wax esters, and little composition of free fatty acids and linoleum acid. This parameter allows the bacterium P. acnes (or Propioni-bacterium acnes) proliferate rapidly.

The second is the increased production and reduced shedding of skin cells. However, when skin cells die too, they need to be removed through the skin, but this does not happen regularly. The result, dead skin cells block the follicles and result in clogged pores.

The third is the largest amount of acne bacteria happens when a pore becomes clogged and oxygen is zapped out. This is the perfect breeding ground for bacteria. Although the skin has a number of P. acnes, the bacteria that once exploded in number, buttons burst and the infection can spread through the pores touch more frequently face. P. acnes live on sebum and they create a substance that can damage along the pores, resulting in redness and inflammation.

Acne bacteria cannot be destroyed with regular face washing. Some chemicals are recommended to be included in your skin care to kill acne bacteria. Benzoyl peroxide is at the top of the list. Others are the tetracycline antibiotics.

Retinoid such as Accutane is also considered an effective treatment for severe acne like this. It prevents scarring and is proven to treat ninety percent of serious skin problems. Also it’s known as an isotretinoin. What is Accutane is that it reduces the size of sebaceous glands thus making the production of small quantities of oil and any bacteria growth.

Another option in the treatment of cystic acne is a cortisone injection. Cortisone injections are commonly used drugs to treat serious skin conditions because it can stop the inflammation successfully accelerate healing and stopping the state resulting from unsightly acne scars. Cortisone hormone is produced by the body and acts by reducing inflammation, but the amount released by the body is not enough when it comes to severe swelling of the skin due to nodulocystic acne. This is where the fire steroid hormones come into play

As explained above, cystic acne is not primarily caused by having poor hygiene, but it is a condition caused by internal factors such as abnormal production of oil and hormonal imbalance. This fact makes topical acne treatments futile when it comes to tackle this type of acne. Apart from the above treatments acne, another possible solution that can help improve the condition is multivitamins. Vitamin B5 and zinc capsules for acne are vitamins that can help break the oil limiting sebum production while improving the metabolism of the oil system of the skin. Compared with Accutane, the results cannot be considered as fast and may not be as effective for others.

Of course, do not forget to consult a dermatologist who can give authorized the evaluation of medicinal products right for your situation. With patience and a good attitude can also help a person suffering from cystic acne build their confidence in anticipation of their skin to finally clear.
